The views are fantastic, but I agree the potential for high heat and humidity would likely scare me away. I don’t know how you did it, but you don’t seem to sweat at all on these photos.

Hahah believe me! There was definitely sweat!

We started around 700 which was just before sunrise and it was around 50°F (10°C) when at the beginning. It warmed up significantly when we were on our way back down. I felt bad for the people just starting!

This hike looks so great! The honest and clear outline of the trail’s difficulty is very helpful. Being stuck not traveling the idea of spending a day climbing to reach such beautiful views sounds like a dream. Thanks for sharing!

I think hiking may be one of the only things we can do for the near future! I’m excited to get back out there!

What a lovely hiking trail. The landscapes are simply stunning. I also like the fact that the hike also challenges you to a degree, which adds to the experience.

Oooh this looks like a fabulous trail, especially as you started so early so you got the views all to yourself! It does look pretty slippery with all those wet steps – I guess it would be scary if it ever gets cold enough to freeze!

If you wanted to do this hike in the summer, I guess the only way to do it would be crazily early in the morning to watch the sunrise before it’s too hot!

South Carolina generally stays pretty warm. It would be strange if the water froze, but it does get really hot so starting early in the morning does help!

Watching the sunrise would be incredible from up there! Let me know if you decide to try it 😂
